Pikey trek is famous for its amazing sunrise and sunset view. The amazing part is that you can have a very magnificent view of sunrise and sunset along with the superb Himalayas such as Mt. Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Annapurna, Gauri Shankar, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Nuptse, Amadablam, Numbur, Khatang, Karyalung, Shishapangma, Mera Peak and Thamserku. The trek starts from Jiri, Bhandar, Namkheli, Ngamor Gumpa to the Pikey Danda (Hill). You can experience with local Tamang, Magar and Sherpa lifestyle and their cultures. On your trial to Pikey one can also encounter with high altitude flora and faunas. You can see Rhododendron flower, Magnolia and wild orchids on the way. The trek to pike offers you with the superb scenery of the Himalayas, landscapes, mani walls and Buddhist stupas, centuries-old monasteries, High altitude vegetation, Himalaya floras and faunas, local culture and tradition.   • Detail Itinerary
    • Day 1 Drive from Kathmandu to Shivalaya (1790m)

      Driving time: 9 to 10 hours
      We will take an early morning drive to Shivalaya, about 210 km north-east of Kathmandu. It takes around 9 to 10 hours to reach there. This drive is great as you will be enjoying the nature all around you with green terraced farm, waterfalls, the Himalayas and the rivers. Overnight stay at Shivalaya. 

    • Day 2 Shivalaya to Bhandar (2200m)

      Trekking time: 5 to 6 hours
       After your breakfast, today we will be trekking from Shivalaya to Bhandar. It will take around 5 to 6 hours of walk to reach there. On your way you can have superb view of majestic peaks and great land topography of this region. Overnight stay at Bhandar.

    • Day 3 Bhandar to Namkheli (2300m)

      Trekking time: 6 hours
      Today after your breakfast we will trek to Namkheli. We will descend down from Bhandar village following the trial to Namkheli. It will take around 6 hours to reach there. We will stay the overnight at Namkheli.

    • Day 4 Namkheli to Ngaor Gumpa (2800m)

      Trekking time: 6 to 7 hours
      After your breakfast we will start our trek from Namkheli to Ngamor gumpa. Ngamor gumpa is a very great place which offers you with warm hospitality and friendly environment. It will take some 6 to 7 hours of trek to reach there. Overnight stay at Ngamor gumpa.

       

    • Day 5 Ngaor Gumpa to Pikey peak (4070m)

      Trekking time: 6 to 7 hours 
      After your breakfast we will be trekking to Pikey peak. Today you will be experiencing high altitude vegetation and the possibility of encounter with Himalayan flora and fauna is also high. We can have superb Himalayan view and breathe taking sceneries as well en route. Pikey hill is a superb view point of Everest (Khumbu) region, you can have an amazing scenario of sky reaching Himalayas such as Everest (8848m), Gauri Shankhar rang, Numbur range, Kanchenjumga, Annapurna(8091m), Manasalu(8157m), Makalu(8463m) and diverse land topography of Nepal.

    • Day 6 Trek to Junbesi (2675m)

      Trekking time: 7 hours
      Early morning we will sightsee around Pikey hill and explore the area. Next we will be trekking to Junbesi. It will take some 7 hours to reach there. Junbesi is a very beautiful village which provides you with warm hospitality and great service. 

    • Day 7 Rest /Explore day at Junbesi (2675m)

      Today we will be exploring Junbesi village. We will visit at the Sherpa museum opened by the local people of Junbesi for preservation of their culture and tradition. Next we will be visiting Thubten chulling Gumpa, a huge and impressive Tibetan Buddhist monastery. We will also taste local delicacies and celebrate our successful trek to Pikey Danda (hill) as well.

    • Day 8 Junbesi to Salleri (1790m)

      Trekking time: 4 to 5 hours
      After your breakfast we will be trekking to Salleri today. This will be the last day of our trek so we will try to spend the day with more fun and in ease. It will take some 4 to 5 hours to reach Salleri. We will stay the overnight at tea house. 

    • Day 9 Salleri to Kathmandu (1310m)

      Flight takes: 40m.
      Driving distance 8 to 9 hrs. 
      You have the choice to travel back to Kathmandu early by jeep or by plane.
      Driving from salleri to Kathmandu is one of the best parts to see landscape and Tamakoshi River half of the road is build by Japanese government and still constructing towards to every village.
