    Gokyo to kalapathar is a very famous and adventurous trek of Nepal. It provides you with chance to explore Everest region. The trekking in the region provides scenic views of whole Solukhumbu (the heartland of Sherpa community) region, beautiful landscape and lush valley. We can have direct flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a residence of Sherpas and home of Buddhist monasteries. Passing through this Sherpa village and monasteries we will reach Gokyo valley, from where you can enjoy the panoramic views of the gorgeous Himalayas. Trekking in this area is both thrilling and risky so one should be patient and physically healthy to enjoy the trek.

    Outline Itinerary:

    Day one: Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2800m)
    Day two: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m)
    Day three: Namche Bazaar- Rest and Acclimatize (3440m)
    Day four: Namche Bazar to Dole (4040m)   
    Day five: Dole to Machharmo (4400m)    
    Day six: Macharmo to Gokyo (4800m)

  • Detail Itinerary
    • Day one Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2800m)

      Trekking time: 3 to 4 hours

      We drive to airport early in the morning to take our flight to Lukla. The 35 minutes flight to Lukla provides the view panorama peaks such as  Langtang, Rolwaling and Annapurna Himalayan Ranges.  After flight walk along the Sherpa village, green vegetations and high cultivations. After walking for some hours through scattered villages and yak herder's camps will lead us to Phakding. Overnight at Phakding.

    • Day two Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

      Trekking time: 6 to 7 hours

      Today we start our trek from Phakding. We will cross suspension bridges over Dudh Koshi River around five times. We can have view of some exotic mountain such as MT Thamserku, Langtang, Rolwaling and Annapurna himal. We, then climb up to Namche Bazaar with Everest views along the climb through the Pines forest and alpine flowers. Encountering the first view of Everest from Top Danda, we trek uphill for the next ninety minutes through pine forest to Namche bazaar overnight stay at Namche.

    • Day three Namche Bazaar- Rest and Acclimatize (3440m)

      Today will be our rest day because rest day during trek means to hike to higher elevation and trek down back for proper acclimatization. Explore to Khumjung, Thomo or Khunde village above Namche bazaar. Namche Bazaar, itself is a tourist shopping hub with all the required trekking and mountaineering clothing and equipment. Overnight stay at Namche. 

    • Day four Namche Bazar to Dole (4040m)

      Trekking time: 6 hours 

      After visit around the Namche area, we follow on the gradual trail with few short up and downs overlooking magnificent view of the great giant snow peaks walking gradual alongside and views with High Mountains. After Sanasa, climb to Mong La 4010m and then down to Phortse Tenga. The day’s trek involves a long tiring uphill trek through the forest of pines, oaks and rhododendrons all the way to Dole. Overnight stay at Dole

    • Day five Dole to Machharmo (4400m)

      Trekking time: 4 to 5 hours

      After the breakfast, we climb up for thirty minutes on an open hill to the scenic ridge above the Dole. Walk along the Alpine meadow with Yaks and alpine High land Birds and flowers with Mt Cho Oyu (8153m) view. Take a short break at Luja, we continue the trek that climbs up along the side of the valley high above the rivers. We reach Machharmo.  Overnight  at Machhermo.

    • Day six Macharmo to Gokyo (4800m)

      Trekking time: 3 to 4 hours

      Today we will go to Gokyo Lake. One hour trek on the trail, through elevated grazing lands takes us to Phanga. At Phanga we observe the memorials of people who lost their lives during the landslides in the region. After passing Waterfalls, water from Gokyo lakes encounters us with first lake then the Second Lake than third Lake Gokyo Lake itself. It is surrounded by mountains. We will settle down in at Gokyo.

    • Day seven Gokyo- Hike to Fifth Lake and its surroundings (5000m)

      Trekking time: 4 to 5 hours

      Today we will watch the views around Gokyo which are truly beautiful. We will visit the local surrounding around Gokyo. After 45 minutes walk we rest and walk another one hour and forty five minutes that brings us to the Fifth Lake of Gokyo. From the Fifth Lake we can have spectacular view of Mt Everest (top of the world). The fifth lake is also popular for the views of North and South slopes of Everest. We trek back along the retracing trail to the third lake for the overnights stay.

    • Day eight Hike to Gokyo Ri (5386m); to Tragnag (4700m)

      Trekking time: 2 to 3 hours

      We begin our trek early. Hiking for about 2 to 3 hrs we arrive to Gokyo Ri. There you can have view of panorama of four 8000ers of the Himalayas that include Mt Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu and Makalu.

      We will also walk through the Ngozumpa Glacier up and downhill trail through the yak grazing lands to Tragnag.  Stay overnight at the lodge.

    • Day Nine Tragnag to Dzongla via Chola Pass (5363m)

      Trekking time: 7 to 8 hours

      Today we trek towards chola pass which is considered a bit harder route. So we walk carefully. We begin to trek along the rocky trails and glacial moraines to the top of the pass. Walk uphill to the top of Cho La Pass (5363m) rewards us with the superb views of Cho La Lake and Mt. Cholatse. Trekking downhill from the pass along the slippery icy trails and glaciers walk brings us to Dzongla. Overnight at Dzongla.

    • Day ten Dzongla to Gorekshep( 5,160m)

      Trekking time: 5 to 6 hours

      After some breakfast, we start our trek from taking easy downhill for a while and few up and down walking brings us to Lobuche. Walking down the rocky moraine path and watching icy glacial pond and icebergs below the Khumbu glacier is very amazing.  After a short downhill walk the last rocky moraine brings us to Gorakshep. Gorakshep is a very beautiful place located below Kala Pathhar (5545m) and Mt Pumori. You will be able to see lots of majestic peaks on the way. Overnight stay at Gorekshep.

    • Day eleven Gorekshep to Everest Base (5360m)

      Trekking time: 4 to 5 hours

      Today’s walk will be special for us because we will be walking the most memorable walk of our lives- to Everest Base Camp. We can have a perfect view of glacial moraines extended from Khumbu Icefall. At Everest Base you will witness the colorful tents of Expedition Groups if it is season for climbing. You can take enough photographs of world's highest summit.  Later we go back to Gorakshep for the overnight stay.

    • Day twelve Trek to Kalapattar (5545) and trek down to Periche (4250m)

      Trekking time: 7 to 8 hours

      Today we climb gradually uphill on grassland for two hours followed by twenty five minutes of walk through the black rocks to the summit of Kalapattar. You can enjoy the spectacular view of sun rise. You can also see Mt Everest, Mt Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbetse, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku along with many other. Climb downhill have lunch and trek to Pheruche. Pheruche is a small town where all the facilities of communication are available. Here we can also find Himalayan Resque Association Aid. 

    • Day thirteen Periche to Namche (3440m)

      Trekking time: 5 to 6 hours

      Today we will be trekking to Namche from Periche. The walk will be easier and the pace becomes faster. Walk down hill crossing several Sherpa villages of Shomare and Pangboche to Phungithanka via Tangboche. You can have a great view of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Tawache and Lhotse as well as various wildlife species like Pheasants, Himalayan Griffons, Musk deer and wild goat.  After, another   short and easy walking brings us to the Namche Bazar for overnight. 

    • Day fourteen Namche to Lukla (2,800m)

      Trekking time: 6 to 7 hours

      Today we trek to lukla. We will walk down through Rhododendron and Pine forest   to Jhorsalle. It will take about two hours. After another 5 hours of walk through several local villages and most of walking is through Dudh Koshi River valley and surrounding. Overnight  stay at Lukla. 

    • Day fifteen Lukla to Kathmandu

      35 minutes flight

      Today is the end of our trek. You will take an early morning joyful flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. We will transfer you to your Hotel.  You will have some rest during the day after such long journey. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.
