The Bigu Kalinchok valley, known as “the valley of cultural places” is extremely rich in culture and tradition. The area is unspoiled and the people are virtually unknown outside of their region. Being so close to Tibet, the land and way of living are very Tibetan. The upper valley offers snow ridges, angry torrents enveloped in mist and lakes of crystalline brilliance. You will have the chance to roam through oak and pine forests as well as the highest rhododendron forest in the country. Many monks live in the Bigu Gompa which is renowned for meditations and there is also the Kalinchok temple (a female god and reincarnation of Goddess Kali) that is honored by Hindus all over Nepal.
